Notes on Adding Listings

Select type of listing - before clicking on the add button on the Managing Listings page, select the overall group the listing should be in - for instance Accommodations or Restaurants etc.
Use full web address - When you enter the web address be sure and include the http:// at the beginning or the link won't work when readers click on it.
Select Location and sub type - Use the drop down menus to selection the most appropriate area and sub type for your listing.
How long should the listing remain? - If you wish the listing to be automatically deleted after a certain number of days, fill in that number in the 'Listing for how many days' slot. If you wish the listing to remain indefinitely, leave this field blank.
Short Description - This should be a short phrase which will displayed on the line by line listing at the top of the page.
Long Description - This is the only part that could be a little tricky. The text you place in here will be treated as HTML code, so that you could actually create a mini web page here if you wished. Only HTML tags that would occur with in the body of the page should be used. Does this mean that if you don't know HTML, you can't enter a description here? No, you can enter normal text and it will be display, but might be repositioned and the paragraph spacing changed. You can avoid this by placing the tag <pre> on the first line and </pre> at the end after all of your text. This will maintain the formatting as you typed it. You may also find it useful to precede words you wish to be bold with <b> and follow them with <.b> (End of miniscule HTML lesson) :-)
Password - Please enter something that is not too easy to guess, unless you would like to see your listing modified to reflect a 14 year old's sense of humour.
Why doesn't my listing appear - To avoid the posting of, um, less than socially desirable listings, new listings will not appear until I have had a chance to have a look at them. This should happen fairly quickly in most cases. You can still look at your listing with the View command on the Manage Listings page.
