Craig's Ski Biases

I am afraid I am not your all round 'I love all kinds of skiing" kind of guy. I like powder and trees. Everything else is just putting in time and keeping in practice for those days of fluff in the shrubs. Well, maybe it isn't quite that bad, but you would be unlikely to find me spending run after run doing high speed cruises on the groomed or battering my middle aged bones in the bumps, at least not unless the bumps had lots of fluff on them. My favorite haunts are places like Cedar Ridge, Bear Chutes, SunnySide, Easter Bowl and of course Snake Ridge, but as a card carrying wuss with little back country experience I don't often stray outside the area boundaries.

My powder addiction means there is many a day when folks keep saying 'Great Day' and my response is 'Not bad, but it would be a lot better with another 20 cm of new'. This does work the other way sometimes, since I often have some very enjoyable, although not very stylish, runs in crud and slush. It's not that I am particularly good at this stuff, I just kind of like it sometimes. Most folks disagree.
